This is a Full-Time Position scheduled to work Monday-Friday, 11:30AM-8:00PM.
Position Summary:
The Registration Coordinator acts as a coordinator between staff, customers, other Health Care Service support staff, providers and Patient Access Supervisor/Manager to develop and maintain consistent practice policies/procedures in the department. The Registration Coordinator will provide department training, coaching and/or mentoring for new and existing employees, resolve shift issues, facilitate the general flow of the department, maintain department reference materials, provide verbal and written assessments of staff to Patient Access Supervisor/Manager, ensure adequate staffing, provide on-line coverage and maintain on-call availability when required. Must have the ability to resolve issues independently. Will be expected to maintain cross-departmental excellence in campus specific responsibilities to ensure accurate and timely patient billing. Will perform TES edits, assist with staff meetings and temporary insurance. Assist in preparing for and conducting staff meetings. Provide coverage for supervisor in case of illness, vacation, etc. Work on special projects designated by supervisor/manager.
Education:
Associates Degree in Business or Health Sciences or related field or 3 years health care experience and an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Experience:
Requires 3 or more years experience in a leadership role, preferably in Registration and customer service orientation. Prior experience with medical billing preferred. Requires demonstrated ability to diffuse angry customers and handle pressure with excellent verbal communication skills. Note: Prefer at least one year of experience with successful performance as a Registration Representative and demonstrated leadership ability, meeting all department criteria to be considered for promotion.
