Position Summary:
The Nursing Supervisor Hematology, Medical Oncology and Surgical Oncology provides clinical nursing leadership, program evaluation, consultation and collaboration with multispecialty providers with the goal of facilitating the provision of high quality care and service to patients with benign and malignant hematological conditions as well as solid tumors. The Nursing Supervisor works collaboratively with a Practice Supervisor and manages an infusion suite that cares for roughly 55 patients per day utilizing 16 infusion chairs, 4 treatment rooms minor procedure room and a access/short stay room that is the intermediary point to the infusion bays. The nursing supervisor and practice supervisor work collaboratively with a team of 17 hematologists/oncologists, 6 Advanced Practice Providers and 4 Surgical Oncologists in a high volume OP ambulatory practice. The Nursing Supervisor serves as a resource to the organization and the community for information related to care within the Cancer Center. The Nursing Supervisor must have an intense commitment to high level customer service, and the ability to foster that culture within the Cancer Center.
Education:
Minimum requirement: Registered Nurse, currently licensed in Vermont and Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s degree in Nursing (or Nurse Practitioner Program), Business Administration, or Health Care Administration and ONS certification preferred.
Experience:
Three to five years RN experience in oncology ideally in an outpatient infusion center. Three to five years supervisory/management experience in an oncology setting preferred.
