Occ Therapist - Part-time

University of Vermont Medical Center - Burlington, VT

This is a part-time position working 56 hours every two weeks.  Schedule will be Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 8-2:30 as well as every other Saturday, 7-3:30.  Flexibility to work additional or other hours during the week would be highly valued.

Position Summary:

Provides occupational therapy to patients in varying states of health and illness.  The practice of occupational therapy means the therapeutic use of everyday life activities (occupations) with individuals or groups for the purpose of participation in roles and situations in home, school, workplace, community, and other settings. Occupational therapy services are provided for the purpose of promoting health and wellness and to those who have or are at risk for developing an illness, injury, disease, disorder, condition, impairment, disability, activity limitation, or participation restriction. Occupational therapy addresses the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, sensory, and other aspects of performance in a variety of contexts to support engagement in everyday life activities that affect health, well-being, and quality of life.  The occupational therapist functions as an essential member of therapy and multidisciplinary teams providing direct care to patients.  Educates and prepares patients/families and caregivers for continued care after discharge.  The occupational therapist may be involved in consultative services within the organization and in the community.   The occupational therapist demonstrates dedication to professional growth and development and to the continuous improvement of patient care.

Education:

Bachelor's of Science or higher degree from an Accredited Occupational Therapy program.  Licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice occupational therapy in the State of Vermont.

Experience:

Experience with neurological population preferred.
