Position Summary:
The Information Security Engineer (ISE) works under the direction of the Chief Information Security Officer and in close coordination with the IS Enterprise Architect and the Application Access Team Lead to evaluate, test, and recommend Information Security tools/systems, applications and processes. This includes evaluation and testing of hardware, firmware and software. The ISE also assists the CISO with recommending, developing, monitoring, and maintaining information security policies and procedures. The ISE ensures that IS security architecture/designs, plans, controls, and processes, are aligned with IS standards and overall IS security. The ISE also identifies security risks and exposures, determines the causes of security violations and suggests procedures to halt future incidents. He/she also develops techniques and procedures for conducting IS security risk assessments and compliance audits.
Education:
A four-year college degree is required. A Certified Information Systems Security Professional rating is desired.
Experience:
8 or more years of information systems experience or equivalent. 2+ years of Information systems security experience or equivalent. Healthcare information systems experience highly desirable.
