Clin Dietitian PD

Position Summary:

The Clinical Dietitian provides medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to inpatients and outpatients in designated areas/programs. The dietitian completes screenings, assessments, and ongoing monitoring of patients' nutritional care; documenting processes and outcomes according to department and hospital policies. The dietitian provides education/inservices to patients, students, and health care staff, and participate in department and hospital-wide activities pertaining to quality improvement, professional development and community education.

This position requires a minimum one year clinical experience.  Renal dietician experience is a plus.
This position is an opportunity to work with a dynamic group of renal dieticians.
Position reports to Renal Clinical Dietician Supervisor.  Responsibilities include coverage for hospitalization dialysis patients at UVMMC as well as outpatients at satellite dialysis units.  Ability to travel to dialysis satellite units around the state is a requirement of this position.  In addition, this position requires coverage for the Transplant Dietician (caring for both inpatients and outpatients).

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics; eligiblilty for registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and Vermont state certification as a dietitian. The organization requires completion of registration and certification within six months of employment.

Experience:

Must have experience in providing MNT to acute  inpatients whose needs include oral, enteral (via tube) and parenteral nutrition, and  in recommending and treating inpatients and outpatients needing diverse oral therapeutic diets.
